General
Do I need to be a member of One LDN gym to book an appointment at One LDN Fulham?
You don’t have to be a member! When you arrive for your appointment, just wait in the reception area and we will come down to let you through.
Will I receive treatment in my first session?
Yes! The first part of your initial consultation will be reserved for taking your medical history and doing the physical examination and the remaining second part will be dedicated to your treatment!
What does the initial consultation involve?
There are 4 parts to the initial consultation:
History
First we will discuss your condition(s) and your past medical history in order to understand the nature of your concerns.
Physical examination
We will then go through a physical examination and do all the necessary tests to try and identify the root cause of the problem.
Plan
Once we have established what is going on, we will come up with a plan to address the problem, both in the short term and the long term depending on your goals.
Treatment
We will then begin with your treatment and get you started on your path to recovery!
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay using any Visa or Mastercard that supports contactless payments. This includes payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay. Unfortunately we’re unable to accept AMEX payments at the moment.
You can also pay via bank transfer, an online payment link sent to you through Stripe, or simply pay with cash.
I have a discount that isn’t showing up on the online booking page!
Your discount will be applied at the point of sale, so it won’t show up on the online booking site but it will be manually applied before you make a payment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Those who reschedule or cancel without giving at least 24 hours notice of their scheduled appointment time are liable to a late cancellation charge at 50% of the cost of their appointment. Those who fail to show up to their appointment are also liable to the same charges.
What is Sports Therapy? Do I need to be an athlete to see you?
Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.
It utilises the principles of sport and exercise science incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work.
More info available on The Society of Sports Therapists website.
Treatment
Which types of therapies do you provide?
A number of manual therapy techniques for soft tissue and joint mobilisation, medical acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation and a number of different electrotherapies which are available at the Spine Plus clinics.
Click here for a more detailed description of the different types of therapies offered and what they do!
What does exercise rehabilitation involve?
You will be assigned a bespoke rehabilitation programme based on your symptoms, the findings from the physical examination and your personal goals. We will take the time to make sure you are able to perform the exercises with the correct form so you can leave feeling confident that you are doing the right thing. In addition to this, you will also be sent the exercises via an online exercise prescription application which has videos and written descriptions of the exercises, just in case you forget!
As you get better at doing the exercises, we will reassess and review to see whether we can progress your exercises so that we are continuously strengthening your body to give you long lasting improvements.
“I hate needles/cracking/deep tissue massage!!” Can I choose to not have certain modalities as part of my treatment?
Of course! Just let your therapist know which modalities you would not like to use and they will tailor the session to find a more suitable way to treat you.
Should I come to my treatment session before or after I exercise?
Whichever is most convenient for you! In an ideal world you would attend your treatment session after you exercise because your treatment will help promote post exercise recovery. However if it is more convenient to have the treatment beforehand, just let your therapist know and they can tailor the session accordingly!
